Queen Anne House

The Queen Anne architectural style was popular during the reign of Queen Victoria around the 1880s to 1900.  This is not to be confused with the architecture during the reign of Queen Anne.  It is characterized by elaborate and eccentric Victorian style houses.  It takes on many shapes and is lavishly decorated.  They are generally asymmetrical in shape with a steeply pitched roof.
Some other characteristics are bay windows, towers, turrets, wrapping porches (often on multiple stories), balconies, stained glass decoration, roof finials and crestings, walls carvings and/or inset panels of stone or terra-cotta, cantilevered upper stories, much decorative trim, patterned shingles, belt courses, elaborate brackets, bannisters spindles, and mixing sidings.
