"new inspiration and real originality"
Art deco is an architectural style that focuses emphasis on the future instead of the past. It consists of geometrical designs, parallel lines, zigzags, chevrons, & floral motifs. The exterior coverings are composed of concrete, smooth stone, metal, terra cotta, glass, & colored mirrors. It mainly flourished in the 1920's and 1930's. It was influenced by cubism, ancient Egypt, Aztecs, Mayans, and North & South American Indian art.
